Spanish Enduro: Two out of two for Garcia in Galicia, Rnd 5 of 2025
Red Bull KTM’s World Enduro Champion Josep Garcia takes the double day victory at round five of the 2025 Spanish Enduro Championship as Antoine Magain eyes the championship with runner-up place in Ourense.
Sunday began in Piñor, Ourense, with clearer skies and the rain holding off, except during the awards ceremony. The riders face a shortened race day two, reduced to three laps with three specials per lap.
Josep García went out 100%, just like day one on Saturday, despite admitting that he hadn't been able to train much in recent weeks due to the various events and interviews he had to attend after being crowned EnduroGP World Champion.
As one day one, staying on two wheels proved to be a difficult task, and Josep struggled with it particularly on the second lap. The KTM rider took a cautious approach, and after a couple of crashes, saw Magain closing in on the overall. But Josep picked up the pace on the third lap to secure the Scratch and E1 victories.
Josep García: “I started strong on the first lap, but I eased off a bit on the second. However, on the third lap, I got back into the swing of things and managed to leave Galicia with two wins in E1 and Scratch. The title is tough because I missed the first round here in Galicia due to a broken collarbone, but we'll keep trying until the end.”
Sherco Factory Racing’s Antoine Magain took another strong result, confirming himself once again as Josep’s closest rival. Today, the Belgian only conceded 17 seconds to the fastest enduro rider on the planet.

Antoine Magain: “It’s been another great weekend for me in the Spanish Championship, with two second-place finishes overall and two category wins. I’ve increased my lead in the championship, and overall I still maintain a good advantage over García, so it’s always good to stay focused. It was a fantastic race, with three excellent timed stages and a very fast Enduro test. I’m very happy with my speed this weekend, and being able to test myself against Josep is always positive and motivates me to improve. See you in two weeks for the Spanish Championship final.”
After missing the podium yesterday, Sergio Navarro redeemed himself today, securing third place overall and another victory in E2. The Andalusian rider had been recovering from a nose injury and felt the effects of not being on his bike yesterday.
Sergio Navarro: “I’m very pleased with the whole weekend after coming back from a broken nose, which meant I only rode the bike for two days, and I’ve had really good speed. Yesterday I made a couple more mistakes, crashed a couple more times, but today I only crashed once. Josep and Magain and I rode very fast today, pushing hard in every stage, and I'm happy with the category win and third place overall on Sunday. I'm looking forward to the next race.”
Yago Martínez finished fourth overall and second in E1, delivering another great performance in Galicia. The WP Èric Augé rider leaves the fifth round of the National Championship gradually closing the gap to the leaders.
Veterans Jaume Betriu and Marc Sans finished just eight seconds apart, fifth and sixth overall and second and third in E3 respectively.
In Junior Open, Yago Domínguez secured a comfortable victory ahead of his teammate Jordi Galera, with Alfredo Pellicer finishing third. The previous championship leader, Liam San Juan, was forced to retire due to mechanical problems.
Nil Rojas was fastest in the closely contested Junior 125 category, with Pol Guerrero and Ramón Godino completing the podium.
In the Women's category, María San Miguel was once again the fastest, with Mireia Rabionet finishing 1 minute and 21 seconds behind.
