Results and video highlights from day one of the 2024 Trefle Lozerien French Classic Enduro which once again has pitched EnduroGP’s best against the French collective – Andrea Verona leads by 0.2s from Josep Garcia.

2024 Trefle Lozerien day 1 in a nutshell:

  • The sun rose over Mende on Friday, May 17, for day one of the ‘French Classic Enduro’, the Trèfle Lozérien AMV. The opening day which featured over 600 riders headed towards the Gorges du Tarn on a 209 km course with five special tests.
  • Andrea Verona finishes at the top of this first day after a close battle all day with Josep Garcia and Jeremy Tarroux leading the French battalion.
  • The GASGAS factory pilot finished strong by winning the last two special tests as the Enduro 2 world champion is in the running for his first victory in Lozère.
  • Josep Garcia finished runner-up in the standings. The current EGP world championship leader started well with victories in SP1 and SP3 but fell in the final test to hand victory to Verona by just 0.2 seconds.
  • Behind the EnduroGP elite is perhaps a surprise best of the French riders, Valérian Debaud who finishes third for the day. It shouldn’t be a surprise, Debaud won the Val de Lorraine classic and dominated Verona and Garcia twice in the specials to finish just two seconds back.
  • Tarroux meanwhile will count his chickens. Finishing over eight seconds further behind, he was leading and set the fastest scratch time, only to be deducted 10 seconds for pushing his bike over the 40 metre line at the start without the engine running.
  • They are followed by a close group from fifth to seventh place within less than five seconds between Killian Lunier and Till Declercq.
