Pol Tarres and TTR Rigamonti Team signed up for full WESS season in 2019

Pol Tarres and TTR Officine Rigamonti Team commit to full World Enduro Super Series in 2019.

Less than a month away from the World Enduro Super Series (WESS) championship gets under way at Extreme Xl Lagares in Portugal, the three-rider, Italian-owned TTR Officine Rigamonti squad of Pol Tarres, Enrico Rinaldi and Alessandro Azzalini have joined the ranks.

Fresh from finishing fourth overall in the 2019 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship, former Junior Trials World Champion, Tarres contested selected rounds of WESS during 2018 with notable results including top-10 at Extreme XL Lagares and a ninth place (one of the few official finishers) at Erzbergrodeo.

Son of four-time World Enduro Champion Mario Rinaldi, 17-year-old Enrico has been immersed in the sport all his life and joined Tarres in the TTR Officine Rigamonti late last year.

A strong 2019 SuperEnduro Junior campaign saw him finish sixth overall, despite missing round one. A podium result at round four in Hungary and a heat race win at round five in Spain were personal highlights for Rinaldi.

20-year-old Azzalini is another young rider with previous experience in WESS having contested Erzber and Romaniacs, plus other international Hard Enduros.

Thomas Gianotti - TTR Officine Rigamonti Team Manager: “We’re very excited to contest this year’s WESS. After watching it closely during 2018 it inspired us to expand our racing efforts internationally and commit to the eight rounds.

“The series itself has a real mix of Enduro racing and aligns to a lot of varying skills. I feel we have a good team of riders to meet the challenge of WESS.

“Naturally, Pol Tarres is our number one rider,” continues Gianatti. “We hope he can challenge for a top-five result in his favoured races.

“Both Azzalini and Rinaldi are young, but determined to learn as fast as possible. I believe they can adapt and surprise people with their speed during the season. We’re looking forward to getting started at Extreme XL Lagares.”
