Close fight for the Beach Prologue race win at the 2019 Machete Hard Enduro sees Manuel Lettenbichler take victory ahead of Jonny Walker and Wade Young.
Manuel Lettenbichler has taken the Beach Prologue win at the 2019 Machete Hard Enduro in Dominican Republic after two heat race battles with Jonny Walker and Wade Young.
On a track built fittingly from palm tree logs, rum barrels and rocks at Playa Dorada beach, Lettenbichler took the victory in a close fight with Jonny Walker.
A healthy crowd enjoyed the prologue races for the 200 riders at SuperEnduro-style multi-heat race format on the beach. Jonny Walker took the first heat ahead of Lettenbichler rider in a race that will undoubtedly be one we will see more than once during the 2019 international calendar of Extreme and Hard Enduro races.
In the second moto, Sherco's Wade Young got between the two KTM riders behind Letti and ahead of Walker. It was a results which put Manuel on top of the prologue podium and means he opens the track as first man away for the main jungle hard enduro race tomorrow.
The Jungle Race begins at also Playa Dorada with a neutralized start. The route covers more than 20 kilometres of jungle, a river full of lagoons and some steep hills to climb, with a total time limit of seven hours.
NB: At time of writing the full prologue results are not available.
