Closer look: Rieju Aventura Rally 307 and 307 R – Taking on the big guns
Spanish manufacturer Rieju is standing tall in the adventure bike market with lightweight single cylinder Aventura Rally 307 and 307 R models.
Spanish manufacturer Rieju’s Aventura Rally 307, a baby adventure bike-cum-rally replica trail bike, are not just helping cement a new category of motorcycle but resoundingly taking on the big guns like the KTM Adventure 390, Honda CRF300 models and that’s not to mention the growing Adv-lite bikes from Asia.
Smaller physically, and lighter, you can understand why as the appetite for smaller capacity adventure bikes is growing – they’re cheaper to buy, insure and run. For newer and license restricted riders that makes lot of economic sense but it shouldn’t mean we have to compromise on the capabilities of the bike or limit our rides.
A decent-looking trail bike, a Rally or Adventure bike lite… whatever you want to call it the Aventura Rally 307 is Rieju’s hot property at the moment if we are to believe the dealers, importers and the manufacturer. That’s down to the under 5K price tag but also to a bike which ticks a lot of spec boxes and which is revealing itself to a be a pretty capable machine to ride.
*Discalimer, Enduro21 has not tested one yet but hopes to asap.

Spec details (see below for more) include switchable ABS, USB plug on the dash, adjustable front and rear suspension, six-speed gearbox, slipper clutch, 21/18inch wheel size combination, upright riding position without the tall seat height (890cm claim), a grippy but not too narrow seat, rear rack, and a 7” Vertical TFT screen with ‘Mirror Link Technology’, and enduro-style footpegs.
Upgraded R model
The sister Aventura Rally 307 R model has different graphics to distinguish it plus a full aluminium skid plate to protect vulnerable parts like the water pump, Michelin Tracker tyres. You also have options in the Rieju Power parts kit including upgraded exhaust system, upgraded suspension with Andreani fork cartridges and Ohlins shock, ride height reducing linkage, a “Power Kit” (we’re not sure of the details at time of writing) and handlebar risers.

KTM beater?
The Rieju Aventura Rally has a few things up its sleeve which better the mighty Honda an KTM rivals including a large 20.5-litre (5.4 US Gals) fuel tank and a claimed dry weight of 138kg (304lbs) is also worth taking note of. For comparison the KTM 390 Adventure has a 14-litre tank and claims 165kg. Note also the Rieju is around 1K less than the KTM 360 Adventure X (more off-road focused) model.

Modern trail bikes
Trail bikes by definition should be more capable of travelling distances than a competition enduro bike, have long service intervals, big fuel tank, comfy seat and a handy-enough chassis. By the same measure they should not be too heavy, big, tall or “experts only” in their outlook.
The Aventura Rally 307 sits alongside bikes like the Honda CRF300 L or Rally, and the KTM 390 Adventure in this way and all appeal as much to the new or novice rider as they do the weekend trail rider.

Price will of course be the crux of the matter for many people and starting from £4599/€4499 + OTR (£4999/€4899 + OTR for the R model) the Rieju is competitive.
