KTM has revealed its 2027 XC and XC-F Cross Country range, with the return of two key models standing out in the line-up: the KTM 125 XC and KTM 350 XC-F.

For Hare & Hound, Scramble and GNCC-style racing, the XC range continues to sit somewhere between motocross and enduro. Less soft than a pure enduro bike, but with more off-road race focus than an SX model, it remains KTM’s option for riders who want a closed-course cross-country racer. For 2027, the big news is the return of the 125 two-stroke and 350 four-stroke, two models that give the range more variety again.

The KTM 125 XC returns as the lightweight, high-revving option for riders who want the simplicity and sharpness of a small-capacity fuel-injected two-stroke. At the other end of the “sweet spot” conversation, the KTM 350 XC-F is back as the middle ground between the 250 and 450 four-strokes, offering more torque and drive than the 250 without stepping fully into 450 territory.

Technical highlights

The 2027 KTM XC and XC-F range remains mostly unchanged for this year using their proven engines with six-speed transmissions developed for Cross Country racing, where outright speed needs to be matched with durability, traction and control over longer race distances.

The chassis is built around lightweight chromoly steel frames designed to position the engine for mass centralisation and anti-squat behaviour, helping deliver stability, feel and predictability when the terrain changes.

Suspension comes from WP, with WP XACT Closed Cartridge spring forks up front and a WP XACT shock at the rear. KTM says the standard settings are shaped by its Factory Racing experience, with the goal of improving front-end confidence, rear-wheel traction and consistency across rough and changing terrain.

Visually, the 2027 models receive updated colours and graphics, with new red highlights on the tank shrouds adding a sharper Factory Racing look. The graphics use KTM’s in-mold technology for better durability in race conditions.

The four-stroke KTM XC-F models are compatible with KTM’s optional Connectivity Unit Offroad, available through the KTM PowerParts catalogue.

Used together with the KTMconnect app, the system allows riders to fine-tune engine characteristics depending on track conditions and personal preference. For riders racing different types of Cross Country events, that extra adjustability could be useful when switching between fast, open tracks, tighter woodland sections or rougher terrain where smoother power delivery matters.
