Stark have announced a new software update for the Varg – customer feedback and ongoing development brings smoother power for faster lap times, greater range and new crawl mode for pushing and loading.

Boasting updates designed to improve the riding experience, Stark Future’s latest update for the Varg looks like it’s aimed as much at the power-hungry experienced riders as much as it is the novice.

They also say this isn’t the big news they’ve been hinting at on social media, there’s more to come.

More than that Enduro21 is pleased to see the factory riders Taddy Blazusiak and Eddie Karlsson are having a development effect on the bikes with a new smoother power delivery helping off-road feel but also increasing laps times for the moto boys.

Unbelievably some people are asking for more power from the Varg – a fact we can’t fathom, like 80bhp isn’t enough for you?! – but the software upgrade, available to all existing and new customers, also aims to help those at the baby-steps end of the scale with new, user-friendly features.

Key Updates

1. More range: After months of developing a new motor control algorithm, Stark have improved the efficiency of the inverter and motor, increasing the range of the Varg. This also reduces the operating temperatures of the entire powertrain, including the battery.

Pointing at the development time put in from having riders like Taddy Balzusiak and Eddie Karlsson onboard, stark also say the power delivery has been refined for smoothness, a modification “valued by test riders during both a 35-minute intense motocross session and in enduro disciplines”, they say. Important to note, that their test riders have achieved faster lap times in motocross with this new power delivery set-up.

2. More Power: In response to feedback from some customers Stark have slightly increased the peak power for the VARG Alpha. This model now exceeds 80hp…

3. Crawl Mode: Another important update for the growing range of riders adopting the Varg and potentially moving up from E-MTBs is the new Crawl Mode. A long press on the map switch activates Crawl Mode, allowing you to push your bike uphill, forwards, or ride backward effortlessly without the motor ‘engaged’, similar to the functionality found on many E-MTBs.

How to update

All these features will be delivered over the air as usual, Stark say. You simply download the new software and enjoy a more powerful and user-friendly VARG.
