GALFER opens up shop in the America - new Orlando base for Galfer USA
Galfer Industries, world leader in the design and production of high-performance braking systems for motorcycles and bicycles, proudly announces the opening of its new North American operational subsidiary, Galfer USA, located in Orlando, Florida, for the distribution in the United States and Canada.
This strategic move by the European manufacturer, consolidates more than 30 years of presence in the market through a local distributor, and will mean direct access to its technology, service, and official distribution in the USA.
The new 500m² (1650 square feet) Orlando facilities is the cornerstone of the new direct service strategy. This business unit, led by Armando Riva, a professional with extensive experience in the North American brake market, will guarantee a comprehensive catalog, specialized technical support, continuous training through the Galfer Academy, and a significant improvement in delivery times and availability for distributors, workshops, and end users in the US and Canada.
It must also be noted the word “tariff” is missing from the press information released by Galfer about this move. The recent trade changes implemented by the Trump administration have meant additional taxes and charges imposed on manufacturers importing products to the US.
Galfer are adding the Orlando subsidiary to the one already operating in Italy since 2018. Both report directly to Galfer’s headquarters in Spain, located just steps from the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, which serves not only as the research and development center but also as the company’s production heart.
Galfer USA now represents the brand’s only official subsidiary in the United States and Canada, serving as the exclusive reference point for the distribution of Galfer products throughout North American.
Over 70 years of experience in braking solutions and more than 30 years equipping motorcycles and bikes in the United States come together in these new Florida facilities, bringing Galfer USA closer than ever to its American users.
Francisco Catena - CEO of Industrias Galfer: “We want this subsidiary to reflect our values: innovation, quality, service, and excellence. From here, we will continue to drive solutions that make a difference in the industry with a local strategy and execution in a market that must be one of the pillars of the future Galfer.”
Galfer history
With over 70 years of experience in developing brake rotors and pads, Galfer is not only an internationally recognized brand but a true global benchmark in innovation. The company is a pioneer, as shown by its patent for the revolutionary Wave (W) rotor since 1998, which has become an industry icon and has been imitated by numerous competitors.
This pioneering technology is complemented by other proprietary technologies such as Shark, Cubiq®, and Floatech® rotors, and Sinter and Semi-metal pads, all designed to deliver maximum performance. This capacity for innovation, which includes milestones like the first specific brake system for MTB bikes, stems from a continuous commitment to R&D.
This technological background has solidified Galfer as an OEM supplier for some of the world’s leading motorcycle and bicycle manufacturers, including KTM, Ducati, Triumph, Beta, Sherco, Stark, MV Agusta, Rieju, Honda-Montesa, Orbea, Pivot, Bianchi, and Megamo, among others.
Galfer’s commitment to quality, safety, and sustainability is certified by ISO 9001, 14001, and 50001 standards. Furthermore, all its brake rotors and pads hold ECE R-90 Homologation, the global benchmark mandatory regulation for replacement brake components intended for motor vehicles, certifying at least the same safety and effectiveness as the original equipment (OEM).
The most recent recognition of this quality came in 2024 with the awarding of the prestigious FIM Quality Product seal, with which the International Motorcycling Federation endorses Galfer products as having the highest performance and reliability on the market.
Galfer’s innovation and quality are validated in the most demanding environment: elite competition. With over 120 world championships won since 1952 in disciplines such as MotoGP, WSBK, Motocross, Supercross, Enduro, Trial, Downhill, and Cross Country, Galfer has equipped and supported legends from the very beginning, including Marc Márquez, Alex Márquez, Jorge Martin, Ken Roczen, Ai Ogura, Tony Cairoli, Toni Bou, Emma Bristow, Steve Holcombe, Brad Freeman, and Kiara Fontanesi.
This commitment to excellence starts from grassroots level, with Galfer being the official sponsor of development competitions like the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, the Asia Talent Cup, and the FIM Junior GP, demonstrating a total commitment to the sport and talent development.
