First look: New Leatt Moto 6.5 boots for enduro with stitched sole
First look at Leatt’s new, top-of-the-range Moto 6.5 boots for enduro and off-road which focus on durability and are a first for the brand with stitched, replaceable soles and a steel toe cap.
Leatt’s new, top-of-the-range Moto 6.5 boots are aimed at riders who “train, race and spend many hours on the bike.” Key features include the SlideLock closure system for a secure fit, ankle protection, and a focus on durability with a replaceable Goodyear sole and the LongLife Ride Kit (buckles, straps, toe caps and soles).
The headline for enduro riders will naturally be the stitched sole – something new for Leatt – with a steel toe cap and that all-important ‘edge’ to which the moulded sole boots don’t have.

Ankle protection and impact absorption – “three-layer” system
D.A.A. (Dual Axis Ankle): designed to allow more natural but controlled ankle movement.
Case Control: a rear structure intended to limit hyperflexion.
3DF impact foam: developed to absorb impacts and reduce load on the joints.
In addition, the boot is CE certified under EN13634:2017.
Durability: replaceable sole and spare parts kit
The stitched Goodyear construction underpins the “long life” approach: increased strength, good grip both on the bike and on foot, and the ability to replace the sole once it wears out.
This is backed up by the Long Life Ride Kit, which includes key spare parts – buckles, straps, toe caps and soles – allowing worn or damaged components to be replaced.
The Moto 6.5 is designed to offer a comfortable fit – even for wider feet, according to Leatt – with a breathable 3D liner and anti-slip reinforcements to improve support and prevent internal foot movement, especially around the heel.

Fit, closure and feel on the bike
The upper SlideLock closure, which is one-way with automatic locking, is designed to make adjustment easier even when wearing gloves and to improve sealing at the top of the boot.
This is complemented by forged aluminium buckles (Over-lock system) with stainless steel bases, aimed at improving reliability when things get tough… or when the mud is deep.
In terms of comfort and closure, the Moto 6.5 also features a PA-fabric upper gaiter to create an elastic collar and improve sealing, along with a breathable 3D inner liner with anti-slip reinforcement to minimise heel movement.
In reality, the concept targets what matters most in enduro: feel and control for riders who spend hours standing on the pegs.
According to Leatt, the Moto 6.5 incorporates the Bike Grip system (extended grip rubber at the ankle and metatarsal), a flat and grippy inner surface for a more direct feel with the bike, and a low-profile toe box to make gear shifting easier. The toe cap is made from moulded Zamak alloy to help prevent impact damage to the feet.

As a reference point, Enduro21 previously tested the model directly below this one in the range over an extended period, drawing conclusions about feel, fit and real-world performance in our long-term test of the Leatt GPX 5.5 FlexLock boots.
