Touratech Suspension component upgrades aim to boost the CFMOTO adventure bikes’ handling to a new level – the German adventure specialists say they improve safety and riding pleasure, especially when carrying heavy luggage or riding off-road.

From our experience at the 2025 Red Bull Romaniacs, the CFMOTO 450MT and 800MT models are popular. If there was one thing that event taught us, it’s that the standard “comfy” suspension doesn’t cut it for even mild off-road riding, let alone anything close to enduro. Transfer those soft, standard suspension settings to a fully loaded adventure bike travelling across countries – maybe two-up with a pillion – and you’ve got a strong case for an upgrade in the suspension department.

Touratech’s suspension systems for both MT models claim to offer high-quality components to improve ride quality and performance for travel and adventure.

‘Extreme’ Shock

The Touratech Suspension Extreme shock absorber is available for both the CFMOTO 450MT and its big sister, the 800MT. It’s a premium shock with a robust design across all components – from the piston rod and mountings to the seals. It has a piggyback reservoir with a large volume of damper oil, designed to improve operating temperature and maintain consistent performance even after hours of off-road use.

Touratech say the Extreme shock responds sensitively to small bumps, with both spring preload and rebound damping adjustable over a wide range. Compression damping can even be adjusted separately for the high and low-speed ranges.

Optional lowering by 25 millimetres

In addition to the standard length, the Extreme shock absorber for the 800MT is available in a version that lowers the bike and seat height by 25 millimetres. Touratech Suspension’s progressive fork springs are also available in a reduced-length version.

Progressive replacement springs

The other upgrade option from Touratech is replacement springs for the standard shock absorber and forks. They have a progressive rate that combines “fine response with high reserves towards the end of the spring travel” – in plain English, controlled and progressively firmer as you push through the suspension stroke.

The replacement springs are also available in both standard and -25mm versions.

The Touratech Suspension range for the CFMOTO 450MT and 800MT models is available in the online shop and sold globally.
