2024 EnduroGP World Championship results from Friday night Super Test at the final GP of the season in Brioude, France where home hero Zach Pichon set the fastest time ahead of Steve Holcombe and Josep Garcia.

EnduroGP Rnd 7, France Super Test in a nutshell:

  • French GP Friday night Super Tests can be relied upon for a great atmosphere and the opening night’s action in Brioude was no exception.
  • Running in lovely conditions on largely natural terrain with some constructed obstacles, and under an ancient aqueduct, it was a solid start to the weekend – although the lengthy rock gardens caused problems for some.
  • After Swiss rider Jonathan Rosse clocked fastest time scratch of the Open categories with a 2m:09s, the Enduro Women took the course with Rieju’s champion elect Mireia Badia making a mistake which lost her around 20s seconds to her rivals.
  • Fastest female of all was Norwegian Marie Holt who takes (we think) her first-ever Super Test win just two tenths to the better of American Rachel Gutish on the KBS Sherco.
  • The French love a 125 2T almost as much as they love their home riders and the Clauzier brothers kept the noise levels high with second and third fastest times in Youth class but Spaniard Alex Puy was faster of all with a blistering 2:07.62.
  • The 2024 Youth champion, Manuele Verzeroli, crowned at the penultimate GP and now moved up the Juniors this weekend, didn’t begin his bigger bike campaign too well. Going first in class he crashed and lost a heap of time.
  • Chilean rider Joan Pablo Clericus sat on top of the Junior timesheets and the hotseat for a while as Junior times remained lower than the Youth class.
  • Times remained slower even when French favourites Leo Joyon and Thibault Giraudon pipped the Chilean. Championship leader Max Ahlin went second fastest with a 2:10 but Sherco’s Giraudon finished on top of the Juniors with a 2:08.
  • Then came the seniors and a long list of experienced riders struggling to piece together fast laps as the course got beaten up and dew came out the ground as night fell.
  • The battle to be best Sherco rider and Frenchman brought out the best of Zach Pichon who ripped a 2:03.98 and really brought the rowdy crowd alive as he went fastest of all.
  • Second, by just a tenth, Steve Holcombe clocked his best Super Test result of the season in P2, a second and a half ahead of Josep Garcia third and with that the Spaniard claims the overall Akrapovic Super Test award for the season.
  • For the last time this season, that is just the first test of the weekend and counts towards the nine (three laps of three tests) riders will complete tomorrow, beginning at 8:30am with the top riders expected back in the paddock around 4pm.

Stay tuned for the results, rider quotes and videos.
