Results from day two of the EnduroGP World Championship round three in Sweden – Josep Garcia stacks up the Skovde tests wins to claim the win, holding off a determined Andrea Verona.

EnduroGP of Sweden, Day 2 in a nutshell:

“I’ll use day one as a training session”. So said Josep Garcia at the end of day one. The world champ and current points leader injured his foot on day two at the previous GP in Spain and says he hasn’t been training before arriving in Sweden this weekend. Second yesterday, the Red Bull KTM rider was pushed all the way by his chief rival Andrea Verona.

But a three from three tests result on the first lap and a card of six from the nine test wins in total, made the difference. Though those test winning margins were sometimes fractional, the Spaniard edged away for a 15 second victory at the final timing beam.

A disappointed fourth on day one, Verona was more consistent on the GASGAS today to challenge Garcia and claim the E2 class win. The tests were a little grippier today, and “needed more respect”, but Verona is making the 450 work and clocked impressive times on the long Enduro test for his second overall.

TM Moto’s Zach Pichon said he did not have the same rhythm today to match his two main rivals and dropped to third. The Frenchman also made a hash of the Extreme test twice, on laps one and three, which gave Hamish Macdonald a sniff of third on the podium again.

Macdonald was all smiles though and content with P4 as the Kiwi continues his run of E3 class victories on the 300 two-stroke, today well-clear of his Sherco teammate Antoine Magain.

Sweden’s fastest home rider was once again Mikael Persson who completed the top five overall and again stands P2 alongside Garcia on the E1 podium. That puts him joint second in the standings after a solid weekend on home soil for Triumph Racing.

Juniors and Youth Class:

The Swedish fans were on it again today and backed Axel Semb all the way to his victory in the Juniors. The Fantic Factory Racing rider has taken two double wins on the bounce now after Spain and now on home soil in Sweden – his 40+ seconds winning margin today will give his rivals something to think about for the second half off 2025.

One such rival is Kyron Bacon who got closer in time on day two but still couldn’t match Semb on the Swedish rocks and roots. Still, it was a good comeback for the MGR Kawasaki rider after a rough Spanish GP to claim back-to-back podiums this weekend.

Thibault Giraudon again went third scratch fastest in the Juniors, the Frenchman just pipping Leo Joyon and Kevin Cristino for that final podium place as the trio finished three seconds apart.

The Youth 125 class belonged to another factory Fantic rider Pietro Scardina who turned it around to clock a strong of test wins and carry a 12 seconds win over yesterday’s top boy, Alberto Elgari. French rider Romain Dagna was again third but over a minute behind.

Open World Cup:

Roland Liska repeated his overall win in the Open World Cup class, the Hungarian pushed closer by Gethin Humphreys today but still with a 20+ seconds advantage. Patrik Capila from Brazil completing the scratch Open class rankings in third.
