2025 EnduroGP World Championship round four results from the GP of Great Britain in Wales – Red Bull KTM’s Josep Garcia does the double on a challenging course to beat TM Racingg’s Zach Pichon and Honda RedMoto’s Samuele Bernadini completes the podium.

EnduroGP of Wales 2025 day 2 in a nutshell:

  • Let’s talk about bogs for a minute. Patches of saturated ground on open moorland or forestry which have no bottom, and, no matter how wide you ride them, have a nasty habit of trying to eat motorcycles.
  • They’re not exclusive to Wales by any means, but Welsh bogs are notorious and with a little more rain today, day two of the British GP, if there isn’t a rider who hasn’t been caught out by one, they are an exception.
  • Day two being a bit wetter and on a well-used track, the Extreme test and the bogs claimed some impressive and high-profile victims, including Andrea Verona’s GASGAS, keeping the Italian off the podium for the first time in five years…
  • Picking up where he left off yesterday, Zach Pichon started day two with a tighter handle on the Welsh tests and was hounding the day one winner Josep Garcia for the win today.
  • Josep was his usual ultra-fast self, ticking off test wins in either the Cross, Extreme, or Enduro tests, but it was the near 10-minute Enduro test where the world champion was making it count. The simple fact is since becoming world champion he is riding more relaxed and looks faster for it.

  • The gap between Garcia and Pichon remained close however (around six seconds), right up to the last Enduro test where the TM Boano rider haemorrhaged around 20 seconds, allowing Garcia to ride to the double in Wales. The result means Garcia extends his points lead as we head into a mini break in the championship (next round is Portugal on September 12–14) – with the small matter of the ISDE in between.
  • Remarkably, the mistake didn’t cost Pichon second place, such was the gap the lead two accumulated, and P2 twice this weekend elevates the French rider to second place in the championship points.
  • Honda RedMoto team’s Samuele Bernadini has seemingly stepped up in the ’25 season and his consistency was rewarded with an overall podium, the second of his career.
  • A strong final lap brought Mikael Persson back up the running order, allowing the Triumph Racing rider to just pinch fourth from his fellow Swede Max Ahlin by 1.98s.
  • After his early bog issues, GASGAS Factory Racing’s Verona finished sixth, unable to make up time after losing a minute and, as we mentioned, this is the first time in five years he has not been on a podium at a GP. The low points haul means he drops to third behind Pichon in the EGP scratch standings.
  • As usual, that top 10 fight was immensely close with Hamish Macdonald less than a second back in P7, and Jamie McCanney 4.6s behind in P8. Antoine Magain and Albin Norrbin complete the top 10 overall.

Eat, sleep, repeat

  • Fantic Racing’s Kevin Cristino was another rider picking up where he left off with a repeat performance in the Junior class. A career-first win yesterday saw the 300 two-stroke Fantic rider in determined mood, which he repeated on day two.
  • Series points leader Axel Semb ticked off a repeat second place also, today 14s adrift, ahead of another title contender, Leo Joyon. Cristino is homing in on them in the standings with this double win.
  • The top 10 in the Juniors is ultra-competitive and a multi-national mix of young riders which carries promise for the years to come in EnduroGP.
  • We mistakenly forgot to mention Kyron Bacon’s big crash yesterday which looked to have knocked the Tasmanian for six. Sadly, that kept the Kawasaki rider out of today’s racing.

Frenchman flies

  • Romain Dagna has bossed this weekend’s Youth class with two commanding days. Despite nearly losing it on the final test, the young Frenchman takes over the points lead in the 125 class.
  • Dagna was joined on the podium by fellow Frenchman Gabin Allemand grabbing his best results to date and Valentino Corsi who also looked good on the tough Welsh tests.
  • Former points leader, TM Racing’s Alberto Elgari, had a bit of a disaster today finishing last in class.
  • Frasier Lampkin was a non-starter today follwoing a nasty crash on the transfer yesterday.

Rosie on a roll

  • With the welcome benefit of one lap less on day two, the Enduro Women categories were finished up early today and it was a double victory for Rieju’s Rosie Rowett. The British rider took a maiden GP victory yesterday and carried the steely determination through day two for a near half-minute winning advantage.
  • Second once again was her Rieju teammate, USA’s Rachael Gutish, who can both count on a curse the Extreme test which she dropped almost a minute on one lap but gained 45 seconds on the next visit.
  • The Women’s class leaderboard was again subject to lots of changes, with Nieve Holmes on the cards for a podium until a disaster on the second Extreme test cost her badly and allowed Honda’s Francesca Nocera up onto the final step of the podium.
  • These podium girls have six points separating them in the championship with two of the four rounds remaining.
  • In the Women’s Junior World Cup we had a new winner in French rider Lorna Lafont who relegated the series points leader, Elizabeth Tett, to second today.
