Beta Motorcycles Australia hard enduro rider, Ruben Chadwick, takes back-to-back wins at the Wildwood Rock Extreme Enduro.

Standing as one of Australia’s oldest hard enduro races (14 years now), the infamous Wildwood Rock Extreme in Victoria also brought the season to a close for riders and teams last weekend, November 10.

Following his win at the 2023 event, Beta Australia’s Ruben Chadwick was set on bringing home a back-to-back win and duly took to the prologue race on Sunday morning that featured a smaller, tighter EnduroCross-style track, securing first place start position for the main race.

Leading out the gold class pack for the main race, Chadwick was smooth throughout the gruelling course that consisted of large boulders, steep hills and plenty of loose rock.

The Rock Garden section was extended for the 2024 event, which suited Ruben well, and the Queensland based rider was able to gain an eight-minute lead within the first lap.

With a time cut-off for each lap, just the three eventual podium finishers were able to complete five laps with Chadwick extended his lead with each 40-minute loop to finish in three hours and 34 minutes, with an impressive lead of 36 minutes ahead of second place rider, Wade Ibrahim and over one hour 20 minutes to third placed Tom Woodhouse. Tim Coleman was fourth and Jon Gatt completed the top five, both a lap down.
