New British Extreme Enduro Super Series announced
Fast Eddy Racing and Edge Off Road have teamed up for a new British Xtreme Super Series in 2023.
It’s fair to say in the last couple of years extreme or hard enduro in Britain has been a bit confusing. For a country which has famously bred Graham Jarvis, Billy Bolt and Jonny Walker (to name just three) if you wanted to compete in a full series it has been a question of which to do?
There are some awesome stand-alone hard enduros and series in the UK calendar run by different event organisers along with the ACU British Extreme Enduro Championship and National Hard Enduro Championship which was new last year (2022).
In a bid to create something new and seperate, two organisers have teamed up and broken away from the Auto Cycle Union with an independent series early in 2023.
Fast Eddy Racing have been the organisers of the British Extreme Enduro Championship series for some years now attracting the likes of Bolt, Jarvis, Walker and even Taddy Blazusiak to the winter mud at venues like Parkwood Off Road Centre and Cowm Quarry. But the British Extreme Enduro Championship had “got a bit stale”, Paul Edmondson told Enduro21, and for them it was time to do something different.
The second organiser Edge Off Road might be less well-known internationally but they run some rider favourite events and two of those will form the middle rounds in the new series: Ultimate Edge Extreme and Edgeberg.
Edge Off Road’s Sonya Jarvis explains their events will feature two races, morning and afternoon, catering for everyone from Youth and Novices (mornings) to Pro riders (afternoon race). The Ultimate Edge promises a single long lap on a massive estate for everyone plus (maybe) an extra sting in the tail for Pro riders. It sounds ace to us.
2023 British Xtreme Super Series dates:
- January 14 Fast Eddy Racing
- February 26 Edge Off Road
- March 26 Edge Off Road
- April 23 Fast Eddy Racing
Fast Eddy Racing have also announced a four-round outdoor EnduroCross series in 2023 aimed at all levels of riders (not just Pros), so the courses will be tailored to make sure everyone can get a taste of EX racing Fast Ed tells us. Dates are: June 24, July 15, August 5, September 2
