2026 Australian Hard Enduro Championship round one Kosciuszko Killer sees Beta Australia’s Ruben Chadwick take the win ahead of Wade Ibrahim and Houston Walters.

No better way to start the Australian hard Enduro season than the infamous Kosciuszko Killer is there? Round one of the AHEC season over the April 11-12 weekend at Towong Upper, on the Victorian and New South Wales border.

The two-day event saw Saturday’s “challenging” prologue featuring a demanding uphill section that tested riders from the outset. Some tough hillclimbs caused bottle necks and changes of lead, particularly in the different classes who found the going hard on the slick rocks and roots.

Sunday’s main race saw eventual winner Chadwick make a strong start, moving into second before making a pass to take the lead in the opening technical sections. From there, he steadily extended his advantage and was finally the only rider in the Gold class to complete three laps, ultimately claiming victory in a punishing total time of 4:49:47.

“The track was technical, with plenty of steep sections and slippery rocks, but overall the conditions were excellent,” said Chadwick. “I felt strong and confident all weekend, and I’m really happy with how the bike is performing. It’s a great way to start the championship, and I appreciate all the support from my sponsors.”
