Spanish Enduro 2025: Antoine Magain Crowned Champion – Josep Garcia Runner-Up
Results from the final Spanish Enduro Championship round of the 2025 season in Huércal-Overa, Almería, where Antoine Magain wrapped up the overall title ahead of Josep Garcia – Alex Puey, Ramón Godino and Mireia Rabionet all claim trophies.
The final day of the Spanish Enduro season left riders with no room to relax on the demanding Almerían terrain. The Huércal-Overa specials were even rougher after the previous day, while dust masked several traps on a course that looked much easier at first glance.
With everything to gain and nothing to lose, Josep García once again showed why he is the rider to beat, even if the points tell a different story. The championship title chase come down to this final round with Sherco Racing’s Antoine Magain posting a super-consistent season while the reigning Spanish and EnduroGP World Champion, Josep Garcia, has won every race except the first round where a broken collarbone kept him out.
The KTM rider was untouchable at each race since and in the final weekend, setting the fastest time in every test except the last and taking both the Scratch and E1 victories ahead of Marc Sans and Sergio Navarro.
Josep García: “After losing the race in Pantón it was difficult to come back. I already knew — from the beginning of the year — that this could happen and would probably happen. My only option was to give everything until the end and try to win as much as possible. I think I gave my maximum, I did the work I had to do, and all that was missing was a stroke of luck to be able to win. But anyway, I’m very happy.”
Spanish title for Sherco and Magain
The real star of the day was the fourth-placed Scratch rider — and first in E3 — Antoine Magain, whose result confirmed his first Spanish Scratch Championship in addition to the E3 title.
Antoine Magain: “I’m very happy to have taken the Scratch and E3 titles. Of course Josep missed the first race, but there were other riders, and I was there, I was stronger than them, so I am very happy. This weekend was a bit more complicated with conditions I’m not very familiar with — typical Spanish conditions: very dry, lots of ruts — but even so it’s been a solid season. I’m very happy with my season and we’ll see each other next year.”
WP Eric Augé rider Yago Martínez did everything possible to stop Alex Puey’s path to the E1 title, but despite finishing second and third in class respectively, the championship still went to the Rieju rider.
Àlex Puey: “Finally, Spanish Enduro E1 Champion, and I’m really happy after the two junior titles. It’s true that Josep missed the first one, but I also knew I had to be there and do the job. But I’m very happy — honestly, the bike has worked perfectly all weekend. I took care to keep dirt out of the engine and everything went smoothly. Now it’s time to enjoy the title and what’s left of the year.”
The other Junior title to be decided today — Junior 125 — went to reigning SuperEnduro Youth 125 World Champion Ramón Godino, who despite finishing just behind his closest rival, Pol Guerrero, collected the points needed to secure the championship.
In the Women’s category, the fight for the title was also red-hot between María San Miguel and Mireia Rabionet. The Catalan rider arrived at the final round trailing after a tough year but proved that giving up is never an option. She claimed her second win of the weekend to take the championship by just one point.
