2025 SuperEnduro Results: Billy Bolt rides the Riesa storm at Rnd 2
2025 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship round two results where Billy Bolt rode the storm for victory on a drama-filled night in Riesa, Germany alongside Dominik Olszowy and Jonny Walker.
SuperEnduro Rnd 2, Germany, in a nutshell:
- Riesa’s track layout and design are always something special and round two of the 2025 season was no exception. A mixture of flowing and technical (though a little less likely to cause log-jams than previous years) it clearly separated the skill-sets of the riders and above all made for some great racing in all classes.
- Hats off to the track designers and builders but hats thrown into the crowd for the guy who is piecing the rocks and the logs of indoor enduro better than anyone else can dream off, Billy Bolt.
- Two seconds a lap faster is becoming the norm between Bill – it was the same at round one – but the technical ability to make that work on this track was something to witness in practice and qualifying.
- With the exception of Bolt, everyone was on really similar lap times which made for a tense and unpredictable Superpole and racing across the night. Bolt delivered the fastest time here ahead of Walker and Eddie Karlsson.
- In heat one Jonny Walker stepped it up and was a match for Billy, riding on his tail and piling on pressure. The duo were clearly faster than Dominik Olszowy and Eddie Karlsson fighting for P3. A couple of lappers helped give a consistent Bolt breathing room and win number one was his ahead of Jonny and Karlsson clocking a maiden heat podium.
- Heat two saw Cooper Abbott take the holeshot but Olszowy and Walker made awesome progress on lap one before Walker lost the front and threw away a chance of a moto win, leaving Abbott and Olszowy free out front.
- Meanwhile Bolt was taking it steady, picking riders off one at a time in the calmest of races behind a frantic Olszowy and Abbott battle. Olszowy made a mistake and Bill said 'thanks, see you later' for win #2. Dominik took second ahead of a titanic Brightmore fight for third which Mitch won.
- Jonny made amends in moto three with the holeshot and the race lead while Bolt and Olszowy rubbed elbows. Bolt won the battle of muscle and set about Walker’s lead and, after a mistake in the rocks, Bolt goes home stretching clear in teh championship after an unassailable 3-3-3 scorecard.
- Olszowy took third in moto three for P2 on the night and Jonny Walker somehow grabbed third overall, despite a DNF in moto two, for a repeat three riders on the podium. That's two rounds and two poor moto scores from the Triumph rider who sits third behind Olszowy in the standings.
Juniors
- Marc Fernandez benefitted big-time from his rivals getting caught in first lap chaos in the Junior World Championship first heat. The reverse grid start in heat two however caught leading riders Fernandez, Milan Schmuser and Roland Liska all out in the first turn in a chaotic race.
- Points leader Alex Puy benefitted but couldn’t help himself with crash after crash while Burts Crayston kept it consistent. Polish rider (where have we written that before?), Syzmon Kus it was though who made the last lap pass for the moto win.
- Predicting an overall winner before heat three was impossible but Marc Fernandez looked smooth and made amends for earlier bad luck with a solid ride to victory and with that the overall and the championship leader's plate. Syzmon Kus was P2 on the night ahead of Berts Crayston with all three claiming a maiden podium positions.
Youth World Cup
- The Youth 125 class proved again why it is a worthy new addition to the series with spectacular racing. Points leader Ramon Godino benefitted from a last lap crash in race one from Michal Laska for the win but it wasn’t to be his night.
- Godino went down early to rule himself out the second heat where Laska, redeemed himself with a win and the overall result ahead of Frasier Lampkin and Connor Watson third.
- One notable absentee on the night was Taddy Blazusiak. The Polish legend has not looked like himself this season and is not appreciating the restrictions put upon the Stark Varg bikes by the FIM. Taddy retired from round one during the races but tonight packed his kit up and went home after qualifying.
- The German home crowd got to hear their national anthem on the night thanks to Fynn Hannemann taking victory in the European Cup.
