2026 SuperEnduro World Championship round four results from Budapest, Hungary, where Mitch Brightmore put up the biggest fight of the season but can’t stop the Billy Bolt freight train.

SuperEnduro round 4 in a nutshell:

Something clicked with Mitch Brightmore at round three of the 2026 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship, and it wasn’t just his dislocated shoulder. The X-Grip racing rider took a podium despite the injury and admitted this weekend that a new mindset of not trying so hard was on the cards.

The new mindset was already paying in timed practice when Mitch went quickest of all ahead of the world champion Billy Bolt as they headed for Superpole.

Superpole hot laps

The Budapest track was a physical one and would cause chaos all night but Bolt put together a measured and clean lap, “the safe option”, he said to clock a 32.012 lap fastest of all when it mattered.

Moto 1

Who would have thought we’d see a Stark one-two on the opening lap? Jonny Walker and Billy Bolt both looked wild early on and caused their own chaos, allowing the Stark riders Eddie Karlsson and Toby Martyn to break clear. Cooper Abbott was also in the mix, guesting on the X-Grip Racing bike.

A lack of blue flags was a feature of the night and didn’t help race leader Martyn as Bolt closed in. A crash in the rocks and a “stall” from the Stark let Bolt through for a win, but it was one he had to work for. Martyn fired it back into life for second, only just holding off a closing Mitch Brightmore, who recovered well from first-lap carnage. Karlsson was fourth and Walker fifth after an up-and-down first moto.

Moto 2

Harry Edmondson took the holeshot in the reverse-grid race, with Diogo Vieira leading lap one. Bolt played it cool, choosing his lines to reach P3 and then the lead before two laps were complete. Brightmore made similar progress to P2 but couldn’t close the gap as Bolt took a comfortable win.

Walker was delayed in the first log section, stepping off his Triumph and starting the lap last, but he fought through to third in another hard-fought moto that would help his overall.

Moto 3

Mitch Brightmore took the holeshot but Bolt passed early to set up what looked like another straightforward win. A mid-race crash in the rocks from Bolt allowed Brightmore through and a shot at a maiden victory. As Brightmore ticked off the laps, traffic and the continued lack of blue flags seemed to play a part.

Two laps from the finish the rocks caught Brightmore out and Bolt capitalised, making a block pass at the next opportunity to seal another perfect night and a 63-point series lead after four rounds. Brightmore secured second overall ahead of Walker in third, despite the Triumph rider again having to work hard. The Stark team’s night ended on a sour note when Karlsson took out team-mate Martyn, costing him a potential overall podium.

Junior World Championship

Milan Schmuser overcame an early mistake in moto one to beat Manuel Gomez, with Toby Shaw third after a first-lap crash. In moto two, Gomez claimed Stark’s first SuperEnduro win after holding off Shaw, while Schmuser struck back in moto three for another victory. A red flag decided the final order, giving Gomez second overall behind Schmuser, with Shaw third. Schmuser now holds a 53-point championship lead.

Youth World Championship

A chaotic opening moto saw multiple crashes and a red flag before results were confirmed. Moto two brought more drama as Eneko Martinez failed to start and early leader Walczak was passed by Tomas Merasicky. Conner Watson eventually took the win despite confusion over the leader and completing an extra lap. Walczak’s results secured the overall ahead of Watson, with Max Eppleman third.

European Cup

Eric Miguel and Norbert Zsigovits battled in moto one before Miguel recovered from a mistake to win. He backed it up in moto two as rivals crashed early, taking another victory while Zsigovits delighted the home crowd with second.
