Taddy Blazusiak confirms KTM return at 2025 Red Bull Erzbergrodeo launch with new ambassador role and electric model development for the Austrian manufacturer.

What goes around comes around, right? Things had been pretty quiet for Taddy Blazusiak since his sudden departure from Stark Racing after round two of the SuperEnduro World Championship.

A bit of trials riding, setting up a museum in Poland… for a while, the six-times SuperEnduro, five-times EnduroCross, and four-times X-Games gold medallist looked like a man who had finally retired.

But if Taddy is anything, he’s dogged. This week, he announced his return to KTM—the manufacturer where he spent 15 years building his legendary status and helping establish both SuperEnduro and Hard Enduro as global disciplines.

“It feels like coming home to the family!” Says Taddy. “My world career began in 2007 with my first victory at Red Bull Erzbergrodeo. KTM immediately brought me into the factory team and supported and accompanied me in all my successes. I am very happy to be back with my orange family as a brand ambassador. Even though I won't be competing in a full racing season, selected races like Red Bull Erzbergrodeo are definitely on the agenda. I feel very well physically and am looking forward to competing in my favourite races again with full motivation.”

Fittingly, the announcement came at the 2025 Erzbergrodeo launch — an event synonymous with Red Bull, KTM, and, of course, Taddy himself. After all, Erzberg 2007 was where he famously switched from trials to enduro and won the notorious race on his first attempt and he went on to claim five victories.

As part of his return, Taddy confirmed he’ll race the 2025 Erzbergrodeo (29 May – 1 June), but his role extends beyond racing. He’s also taking on duties as a KTM brand ambassador and a consultant for electric motorcycle development.

Time’s up at Stark

His time with Stark Future—despite its rocky ending—wasn’t wasted. Over two years, Taddy played a key role in developing the Stark VARG, even during the team’s forced absence from SuperEnduro and EnduroCross due to the still-murky issues surrounding electric bikes in FIM competition.

Ironically, one of the strongest rumours behind Stark’s exclusion from 2024 FIM events pointed to KTM’s influence. While that was never confirmed, the twist in the tale is that Taddy has now not only returned to KTM but will use his experience with Stark to help shape KTM’s electric motorcycle programme.

It’s a homecoming of sorts and a new chapter and with gas in the tank, a gearbox and a clutch lever for part of the time at least…
