Spanish manufacturer Rieju jumps feet first into the mini adventure bike market with lightweight single cylinder Aventura Rally 307 and finally launches fuel injected two-stroke enduro model, the MR Pro 300i.

officially unvelied at the recent EICMA international motorcycle show, Spanish manufacturer Rieju has two new models well-worth your attention: the MR Pro 300i fuel injected, two-stroke enduro model and the Aventura Rally 307, a baby adventure bike-cum-rally replica trail bike set to take on the mighty KTM 390 and Honda CRF300.

Smaller physically, and lighter, you can understand why as the appetite for smaller capacity adventure bikes drops down the pecking order to newer riders, license restricted rides or simply people who want a better-looking trail bike.  Rally or Adventure lite you might say of the Aventura Rally 307 which Rieju actually correctly label a trail bike as this should open up off-road an trail riding to new riders.

Trail bikes by definition should be more capable of travelling distances than a competition enduro bike, have long service intervlas, big fuel tank, comfy seat and a handy-enough chassis. By the same measure they should not be too heavy, big, tall or “experts only” in their outlook.

The Aventura Rally 307 sits alongside bikes like the Honda CRF300 L or Rally, and the KTM 390 Adventure in as much as they appeal to the new or novice riders.

Spec details include switchable ABS, USB plug on the dash, adjustable front and rear suspension (compression, rebound plus preload on the rear – this is our guess based on the show bike at EICMA), six-speed gearbox, 21/18inch wheel size combination, Michelin Enduro tyres, upright riding position without the tall seat height (890cm claim), a grippy but not too narrow seat, rear rack, and a 7” Vertical TFT screen with ‘Mirror Link Technology’, and enduro-style footpegs.

The Rieju Aventura Rally has a few things up its sleeve which better the mighty Honda an KTM rivals including a large 20 litre fuel tank and a claimed dry weight of 138kg is also worth taking note of.

Price will of course be the crux of the matter once you’ve been hooked by the looks. At time of writing Enduro21 does not have RRP on the Aventura Rally 307 but it’ll likely be competitive given the Spanish manufacturer’s other models.

New “Made in Spain” fuel injected two-stroke MR Pro 300i

Also on the stand and coming at us is the new, in-house developed Rieju MR Pro 300i enduro model. Famously the Rieju enduro bikes are based on a previous manufacturer’s design and development (GasGas pre-Austrian takeover).

The role of Alfredo Gomez chiefly, along with EnduroGP riders and the multi-disciplined off-road rider Dominik Olszowy, has been in developing their own bikes.

Previewed by Enduro21 earlier in 2024, the throttle body fuel injection 300cc two-stroke has taken a lot of development time to perfect.

Gomez was on the KTM books when they were developing the TPI two-strokes and was something of a kingpin in helping Rieju develop their own TBI fi engine.

The hardest part, Alfredo told us, was the electronic fuelling and mapping to create a bike which ran perfectly in the wide variety of enduro conditions. It’s why Gomez was on the bike at Erzbergrodeo for example where the altitude and changeable riding conditions are a true test. In truth Alfredo actually swapped back and forth between the EFI bike and a carbed (in fact a SmartCarb was fitted) at different Hard Enduro events this season.

All the hard work is now complete and the new MR 300i is a reality. Enduro21 has no information about when the bike will be on sale in dealers.
