Quick look: Acerbis enter goggle market with four-model range to suit all budgets
Acerbis have turned their attention to off-road eyewear with a new range of goggles, seeing the Italian manufacturing giant target entry-level riders and youngsters, right through to professionals.
The new collection consists of four models – the Vortex, Vulcan, Vitrion and Vanguard Kid.
Heading the stable is the Vortex, featuring a new lens enhanced with ‘Perception technology’, which the firm claims improves clarity across varying light conditions while offering an extra-wide field of view.
Handily, the injection-moulded lens also features a quick-release system, allowing for fast changes and easier cleaning, and there’s even a ‘dual-lens’ option for an extra €29.95, which, much like a double-glazed window or Pinlock system on a road visor, uses two layers to prevent misting.
The Vortex also features integrated outriggers to improve strap tension and helmet fit, a dual-density frame construction, large ventilation ports, compatibility with prescription glasses, and a detachable nose guard. Customers can choose from standard, mirrored and roll-off versions – which come with 50mm film – with prices starting from €104.95 and rising to €134.95 for the latter model.
Up next comes the Vulcan for substantially less cash but still packing most of the goodies offered with the above flagship model.
Like the Vortex, it features a quick-release lens and utilises a similar dual-density frame concept combined with triple-density face foam, large ventilation openings and an anti-fog treatment, although the posh Perception lens is lacking and the strap is 5mm narrower. Variants include standard, mirrored, dual-lens and roll-off options, with pricing from €74.95.
In the cheaper seats is the Vitrion, which, despite its lower €44.95 starting price, still comes with triple-density foam, anti-fog lens treatment and compatibility with prescription eyewear.
For the youngsters, Acerbis are also offering the Vanguard Kid, designed specifically for junior-sized helmets and featuring a replaceable injection-moulded lens, anti-fog and scratch-resistant coatings, plus triple-density foam for comfort. Prices start from €34.95.
Completing the collection is the usual comprehensive range of accessories, including mirrored, dark, photochromic and dual-lens options, alongside roll-off systems, tear-offs and a storage bag capable of carrying up to four pairs of goggles.
