Josep Garcia bags his fourth win at the Enduroc enduro party which closes the racing season in Spain with more than 800 riders descending on the Catalonian festival across the weekend.

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider Josep Garcia signed off his 2022 season in style at his home race Enduroc which traditionally wraps-up the season in Catalunya.

Taking both the win in the Superpole and the main event, Garcia again made the Enduroc trophy his own but had to work for it in the dust and an on the gas Bernat Cortes. Antoine Magain closed the podium to cap off a good year in Spain for the Belgian Sherco rider.

The 12^th edition of the Enduroc broke the entry record with approaching 1000 riders racing across the weekend at the “big enduro party” which attracts riders from all levels including EnduroGP and Spanish national enduro championships.

Saturday´s Superpole highlights

After the morning timed sessions, and a familiarisation lap for Sunday´s main race, the riders face the crowd favourite Superpole race on the Saturday afternoon. It’s a prologue where the fastest 40 riders from the junior and senior classes fight to earn the best spot for the Sunday MX-style start.

Despite not having the best start, and then hitting the dirt, Garcia still hunted down the leader Bernat Cortes to start the weekend with a win.

Cortes showed that he was ready to challenge in the dry conditions but had to settle with second with Sergio Navarro, Jordi Quer and Pau Tomas completing the top five.

With no rain in the last months, dust was always going to be an issue at Enduroc and that meant a good start was key. Bernat Cortes pulled his second holeshot of the weekend and held Josep Garcia behind for the long opening lap.

Garcia was patient though and waited behind out the dust but kept looking for the perfect moment to take the lead: “In the second lap Bernat went wide in a turn and I took the opportunity.” Said Josep. “I had been one hour following him in the dust. When I managed to pass him the race changed completely for me”, added Garcia on bagging his fourth win at the iconic Spanish race.

Bernat Cortes finishes the season on a high note

GASGAS rider Bernat Cortes secured the second spot by finishing the two laps just under two minutes down from the winner with Antoine Magain finishing four minutes behind in third. Jaume Betriu and Sergio Navarro completed the five-rider podium.

By classes, Antoine Magain won E1, Josep García E2 and Jaume Betriu E3. While David Riera did the same in Junior Open, Yago Dominguez in Junior 125 and Mireia Badia was once more the top rider in the Women´s class.
