Results from round two of the EnduroGP World Championship in Spain, which came to an exciting close with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Josep Garcia taking the overall win. There was also plenty to celebrate for Albin Norrbin and NSA Racing, with the Swede securing his debut senior class win in Enduro3.

Day 2 in a nutshell:

  • The final day of racing in Oliana saw Garcia take full control of proceedings on home soil. A 17-second win in the opening Enduro Test of the day was a formidable warning shot from the KTM rider to the rest of the field. Today was going to be Garcia’s day.
  • From there, the Spaniard pretty much controlled the race, winning all three Enduro Tests on the day – each almost 12 minutes in length – to build his buffer to 39 seconds and secure a double victory in Spain, along with his third EnduroGP class win of the season.
  • Best of the rest today was his teammate, Andrea Verona. The Italian gave chase, but just didn’t have the measure of Garcia.
  • Second place didn’t come easy, as a hungry Zach Pichon, from the TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team, was hot on Verona’s heels all day. In the end, the silver went to Verona by just eight seconds, even though Pichon posted the fastest time in the final Cross Test.
  • Outside the top three, NSA Racing’s Albin Norrbin was on song today. The Swede has been steadily building towards a result like this since his switch to Husqvarna and NSA Racing, and in Oliana he delivered. Fourth overall and his debut Enduro3 class victory gave him plenty to cheer about.
  • Sherco Racing Factory’s Steve Holcombe was in the fight for Enduro3 victory, but came up two seconds short of Norrbin, while ending his day fifth overall.
  • In the Women’s Enduro class, the RIEJU Factory Team won again, but this time it was Rosie Rowett who topped the podium. The Brit was practically untouchable, winning all but the opening special test. Nieve Holmes made it a British 1-2 in class, with Rachel Gutish in third.
  • In the Junior class, TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team’s Alberto Elgari returned to the top step of the podium, ahead of Romain Dagna (KTM) and Triumph’s Leo Joyon.
  • The Youth class saw Fantic Factory Racing’s Riccardo Pasquato take the win by six seconds over Simone Cagnoni (KTM), with day one winner Pietro Scardina (TM MOTO) third.
