WRC Champion Kalle Rovanpera announces EnduroGP Team with Roni Kytonen
Two-Time WRC Champion Kalle Rovanpera announces KR69 World Enduro Team with Roni Kytonen.
Finnish rider Roni Kytonen is the latest rider to announce a new team for the 2025 EnduroGP World Championship season.
Junior World Championship runner-up in 2022 and three-time European Champion, Kytonen will race with the KR69 World Enduro Team, the new squad backed by two-time WRC World Champion Kalle Rovanpera and Husqvarna Motorcycles.
The announcement was made official this week and Kytonen says he’s “super-excited and happy to be part of this project and to race for the KR69 World Enduro Team in the 2025 EnduroGP season”, extending thanks to Rovanpera, Husqvarna Scandinavia, and other sponsors and collaborators for making this new project a reality.
Last week, Kytonen travelled to Malaga in southern Spain for the official unveiling of the new team. The Andalusian city, often referred to as the ‘City of the Sun,’ has served as a winter training base for years for major enduro figures such as Kari Tianen and Juha Salminen. It provided the backdrop for a photoshoot with his new motorcycle, designed with the colours of the Finnish flag.
In taking on this new role, Kalle Rovanpera follows the example of Finnish compatriots and Formula 1 drivers like Kimi Raikkonen, now head of the Kawasaki team in MXGP, and Valtteri Bottas, who supports youth karting.
In addition to his rally success, Rovanpera is a passionate enduro enthusiast and has decided to support Kytonen, staying true to the Finnish athletes’ tradition of reinvesting part of their earnings into projects that foster sports development.
This approach has allowed Finland – a country of just 5.5 million people – to continue excelling globally in various disciplines, including enduro and motorsports in general.
