Mario Roman returned to the Spanish Hard Enduro Championship for round three and took the victory for the Sherco ahead of Teodor Kabakchiev – ride onboard POV with Kabachiev in the final (below).

The third round of the Spanish Hard Enduro Championship began with a surprise in Oviedo, when Camilo Herrera set the best time in the Elite timed lap on Saturday ahead of Teodor Kabakchiev and Mario Roman.

It didn’t last long as the contest switched to straight rhythm races and the winning duo of the two previous championship events in La Clua and Cantoria, Roman and Kabakchiev, restored their positions at the top of the time sheets.

Sunday’s main event saw terrain in perfect condition thanks to the rain of previous days, where the Hard Enduro World Championship runner-up, Mario Roman put on a  demonstration of technique, speed and physical resistance to beat Kabachiev by 8m36s after almost three and a half hours of competition.

Mario and Teo in second place were the only riders to complete six laps of the demanding Asturian course ahead of Marc Font who finished third to complete the podium one lap adrift. Francesc Moret and Marc Riba completed the top five.

By categories, Sandra Gómez, in 27th place in the scratch, took the Women’s victory while, in Junior Camilo Herrera clocked four laps for the win, followed by Éric Miguel and Miquel Atxa.
