The FIM Hard Enduro World Championship follows the EnduroGP series in heading to Germany  for the melting pot of a race, the 24MX Getzenrodeo — entry list (below) for penultimate round this weekend sees Mani Lettenbichler aiming for the 2025 HEWC crown on home soil.

The wooded hills at Getzenwald, just up the road from where the EnduroGP paddock was camped out last weekend, have been a traditional scene of drama in the Hard Enduro World Championship.

From the infamous starting canon, Graham Jarvis’s dominant years pre-HEWC, to the epic showdowns between Mani Lettenbichler and Billy Bolt in recent visits, we’re banking on a repeat this weekend.

Lettenbichler favourite on home soil

Manuel Lettenbichler heads to his home race in Saxony with a 35-point advantage and fresh off a dominant win at Sea to Sky in Turkey. Mario Roman and Mitch Brightmore joined him on that podium, taking advantage of Billy Bolt’s poor result.

Second in the championship, Bolt arrives in Germany with a point to prove after food poisoning and wrong tyre choice ruined his weekend in Turkey, despite a prologue victory. The Brit could only salvage 11th last time out and now sits just a point ahead of Mitch Brightmore in the championship with two rounds to go.

The Saxony event’s theme of warfare has seen some awesome races in Getzenwald and Bolt certainly arrives as a favourite at this race which is famous for the intensity and the crowd. Billy and Mani waged here previously but Brightmore’s consistency on the podiums has been impressive this year (plus, fact fans, the prologue in 2023 was the first time Mitch put one over on Billy in any race).

Along with Brightmore, the podium finisher at Sea to Sky, Romaniacs and not to mention Getzen last time we visited in 2023, it’d also be madness to count out Mario Roman.

The race will again see a possible 43 points available for the win – maximum of three for the prologue win, 10 points each for both Saturday morning’s GetzenRace qualifier and the GetzenChamp main event the same afternoon where the top 20 shootout for 90 minutes, plus 20 for the overall result.
