The 24MX GetzenRodeo returns this year as round six of the 2025 FIM Hard Enduro World Championship on October 24–25 – back to the future with original paddock location and finish line for spectators.

It might not be the grand finale but as the penultimate round of the season and the last race in Europe, Getzenrodeo will surely be a must watch for Hard Enduro fans – especially if you can get yourself to the village of Griessback (Grießbach in German), close to the historic Zschopau in the Ore Mountains.

The 2025 edition marks the beginning of a new chapter for the GetzenRodeo with a new promoter team within the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship, and exciting developments in the race format at a race which traditionally proves incredibly popular with spectators and riders.

What’s New in 2025?

GetzenRodeo ’25 focuses on evolution rather than revolution they say with a few exciting updates to the format and a significant boost in spectator friendliness.

The event kicks off Friday afternoon with a brand-new prologue format, although they haven’t released details of exactly what that means (at time of writing – Ed).

Saturday will feature the well-known GetzenRace, where the whole entry will fight for spots in the grand finale on an easier course (not easy!).

An even more challenging course awaits following the traditional cannon gunshot to start the “GetzenChamp” race once again promises spectacular action and top-level riding.

“Back to the roots”

Organisers promise a special treat for fans this year with the entire event infrastructure returning to the sports field of the Ore Mountain community. The paddock, rider check-in, expo/trade area, and catering will be located on the sports field offering a true “back to the roots” vibe.

The finish area and “Joker Line” (to be taken by each rider during the Champ race where famously Mani and Billy helped each other last time) will also return to the legendary “Speckschwarte,” where large spectator stands are planned, giving all fans a perfect view of the racing action and the 2025 winner.

Tickets & Registration

Ticket sales for the 24MX GetzenRodeo 2025 begin on August 30, 2025, via the official website: www.getzenrodeo.net

Looking Back: The Grand Finale HEWC of 2023

The most recent edition of the GetzenRodeo in 2023 was a true highlight for fans and riders alike. As the big world championship finale, the event played a key role in crowning an outstanding world champion: Manuel Lettenbichler, who had already secured the title before the race, sealed a flawless season with his victory in Grießbach – six wins in six races.

With perfect autumn weather and a buzzing crowd, Lettenbichler dominated the entire weekend. On Friday evening, he won the new knockout format "Red Bull Double Trouble," held on a special section that even ran through the festival tent.

On Saturday, he left no room for doubt in the GetzenRace and the final – the so-called GetzenChamp: with remarkable consistency, he outclassed the competition once again. Only Billy Bolt could briefly keep up but ultimately had to concede.

2023 was a celebration of extreme enduro sport: the crowd cheered every effort with thunderous applause – and crowned Lettenbichler the “King of GetzenRodeo.” It was already his fourth win in Grießbach (after 2018, 2019, and 2021).
