Italian Enduro Rnd 5 + 6: Andrea Verona and Zach Pichon share the wins
GASGAS Factory Racing’s Andrea Verona and TM Boano Factory’s Zach Pichon shared the overall wins across two close days racing results in the Assoluti Italiano Campionato.
Massa Marittima in Tuscany hosted rounds five and six of the 2025 Italian Enduro Championship which began with the appetizer of a prologue run in natural terrain and which saw the two protagonists for the weekend lay down their markers.
The 24MX Italian Absolute Championship again saw the leading lights of world enduro throughout the time sheets at this double-header weekend between the EnduroGPs of Spain and Sweden.
Day one, round five, pitched four laps and three special tests per lap, punctuated by two time controls under the direction of the Motoclub Massa Veternensis and the Italian Motorcycle Federation.
The RedMoto Enduro Test, with its technical track, alternated between narrower and more technical sections and smoother passages and would stand as the biggest decider of the results. Extreme Test Bardahl, within an undergrowth with several passages within a riverbed, was followed by the Cross Test on classic Italian hillside.
Protagonists both in the prologue yesterday evening and today, Andrea Verona and Zach Pichon battled for the first overall vicory. At first it was the Frenchman who had the upper hand but the first special test of the second lap saw Verona take over the lead in the general classification and never let it go.
Third position saw Nathan Watson (Beta Factory) and Hamish Macdonald (Sherco CH Racing) repeatedly passing each other in the overall classification. In the end it was Watson who had the upper hand, relegating his rival to fourth position.
Manolo Morettini (Honda Racing RedMoto) had his best day in ‘25 season to complete the top five.
Round five, overall top 10:
Day two, round six
Day two saw the race programme shortened by one lap for the 130 registered riders with the clash between Andrea Verona and Zach Pichon once again the focus of the day.
The French rider set a good pace right from the first special tests, building a safety margin, which combined with some small mistakes from Verona to allow the TM rider to triumph.
Hamish Macdonald and Nathan Watson again put on an immense fight for the final podium place (check out the overall closeness of the top 10 times). This time it was the Sherco rider who won out, turning the tables on his Beta rival.
Closing the top five on day two, Morgan Lesiardo put the Triumph Racing Italy TF 250-X into fifth overall in the general classification.
Round six, overall top 10:
